Service Description
PREREQUISITE – LEVEL I & LEVEL II or comparable training This course is intended for experienced operators and roadway workers who have successfully completed Levels I and II. This Level focuses on mastering advanced towing and recovery techniques for complex, high-risk scenarios. The curriculum is designed to enhance an operator's ability to plan and execute intricate recoveries with a focus on safety, efficiency, and the proper calculations needed to protect personnel, equipment, and property. Sixteen (16) Hours Classroom, Hands-On and In-Class Exam Review of Resistances and Anchor-Ability Introduced in Level I & II Review of Tow Capacity Calculation and Lift Capacity Calculation Review of Medium & Heavy Duty Lift and Tow using Axle Forks/Spring Hanger Forks, etc. Air System Fundamentals and Familiarization Driveline Component Identification, Removal and U-Joint Inspection Airline hook-ups – locations, concerns, precautions Rim and Tire Attachment Options for Recovery Rigging Use, Ratings and Inspections OSHA Standards Optional Winching Attachments Additional Straight Truck/Box Truck Up-Righting Concepts – 1 Truck Additional Tractor Trailer Up-Righting Techniques – 1 Truck Snatch Block Use and Introduction to Angle Factor Multipliers Advanced Winching Lay-Ups Effects of Gradient Resistance on Tow Trucks/Winching Sources Calculating Mechanical Advantage in Compound Lay-Ups True Line Load – Calculating Angle Factor Multipliers – What is Resultant Load? Improving the Safety, Efficiency and Professionalism of the Towing, Recovery and Transport Industry through Education and Awareness. Additional Information Participants will receive a certificate of completion. Upon successful completion of written exam – Photo ID Card will be issued.
